Pastor Bertani currently serves St. Mark’s Lutheran Church (ELCA) in Fairfield.  He has served there for over 8 years.  He was ordained in 1997 after graduating from Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary in Berkeley with a Masters of Divinity degree.  His first call was to Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Auburn, CA as an Associate Pastor for Youth and Family Ministry.

Prior to his calling into the ministry he received a B.S. in History from U.C.L.A in 1992.  Before attending there he served 4 years in the United States Marine Corps from 1984 to 1988.

Pastor Bertani has a wife, Pamela and two children: a 8 year old daughter Tyler, and a 5 year old son, Dylan.

In addition to his role as the pastor of St. Mark’s he is the board president of the Interfaith Council of Solano County.  Their mission is to end poverty and homelessness in Solano County.  Their responsibility includes the running of the Heather House Emergency Shelter.  On his day off he works as a counselor for a Drug and Alcohol Residential Treatment Facility. 

His hobbies are reading, bookstores, golf and playing with his kids.
